At the heart of the Huawei GT 3 Pro is the GT 3. The Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro has a ceramic or titanium build quality, and the watch looks and feels good. Their battery life is also exemplary, as are their fitness and health monitoring features. It's a durable, classic-looking smartwatch for Android and iOS.
Advantages
+ premium look and feel
+Responsive interface+iOS and Android support
The Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro is Huawei's best-looking smartwatch yet, aiming for a balance of sophistication and functionality, especially with its fitness prowess, premium design, and great battery life.
The latest in the GT watch line, the Watch GT 3 Pro comes in two styles: titanium and a smaller option ceramic. The titanium watch is made of matte-blasted metal, while the smaller (and pricier) ceramic Watch GT 3 Pro comes in polished white. Both offer a range of strap options.
HUAWEI GT 3 Pro Ceramic
The Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro isn't cheap -- literally or figuratively. It's a great-looking watch and smartwatch, and whichever you choose, it's going after watch fans rather than cheap, mass-market fitness tracker buyers.
Huawei's software is compatible with both Android and iOS and in the latest update, Huawei has also improved iOS compatibility with music controls, making the Android and iOS experiences closer than ever.
With always-on-display (AOD) off, two weeks of battery life is achieved on the Titanium Edition watch, and seven days of battery life on the Ceramic GT 3 Pro.
Huawei's watch can also be charged wirelessly with any Qi charger -- if you have an Apple or Samsung smartwatch, you don't need any proprietary wireless charging. They power up when placed on the MagSafe charger.
The Watch GT 3 Pro excels in terms of battery life, UI responsiveness, and solid fitness tracking.
HUAWEI WATCH GT 3 PRO Price
There are two versions of the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro, each with a different strap.
The Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro Titanium Edition starts at 2,388 yuan. Available with black Viton or gray leather strap.
Contrary to the trend of lower costs for smaller options, the ceramic GT 3 Pro costs more than the larger titanium version with an MSRP of $4,688 with a ceramic bracelet. If you like the ceramic style but want to spend a little less, you can get a smaller watch with a leather strap for 2,988 yuan.
It has IP68 water and dust resistance. The touch is also very elegant. The edges of the sapphire glass are chamfered for a smoother finish. The large rotating crown in the upper right corner is a natural, satisfying way to interact with the GT 3 Pro's interface, and there's also a shortcut button for quick access to apps or functions beneath it.
The body of the smaller ceramic version GT 3 Pro is a white ceramic core. The button configuration is the same as the Titanium version, but the screen is smaller at 1.32 inches, and the watch feels a bit chunkier — more of a fashion statement.
The bracelet links of the ceramic version of the Watch GT 3 Pro are white and shiny chocolate, matching the material and shape of the white body of the watch.
No matter which version you choose, the GT 3 Pro looks refined.
Huawei WATCH GT 3 PRO Display
The Titanium GT 3 Pro display is 1.43 inches
The ceramic GT 3 Pro display is 1.36 inches
Both have 466 x 466 resolution
Both look great, especially with some pre-installed black dials bleeding into the bezels, giving the illusion of a full-screen titanium front.
Both sizes feature AMOLED screen technology that delivers deep, inky, endless blacks and vibrant colors that are easy to view both indoors and out, even on sunny days. They feature auto-brightness and can be set to have an always-on display, so the time is always on-screen, making the overall feel of the watch more in line with traditional options.
HUAWEI WATCH GT3 PRO software
Runs Huawei's Hongmeng OS
strong core experience
Running Huawei's HarmonyOS operating system, the Watch GT 3 Pro features an evolution of the UI found in the original Huawei Watch GT, a stripped-down smart(ish) watch UI.
Aside from third-party app support, the GT 3 Pro works pretty much the same on Android and iOS smartphones, making it one of the few good alternatives to the Apple Watch for iPhone users.
It connects by pairing the watch with the Huawei Health app, through which you download new watch faces, update software, and get a healthy big-screen view.
Unlike the original GT, the GT 3 Pro's interface is responsive, and it also supports a handful of third-party apps. Huawei's AppGallery can be accessed through the Huawei Health app.
As for navigating through the watch interface, it's simple. The main display is where you'll find changing watch faces. There are plenty preinstalled, or new themes can be downloaded through the Health app.
Shortcut screens can be added to the right. These include sleep, stress, heart rate, music, weather, moon phase, wallet, activity log, call log, contacts, barometer, SpO2, compass, training plan, running performance index, resting heart rate, skin temperature, and workout status.
The left screen provides shortcuts to weather information and music controls. Swipe down from the main watch face to quickly switch, and swipe up to view notifications.
HUAWEI WATCH GT 3 PRO fitness function In addition to the shape and battery life, the fitness function of the Watch GT 3 Pro is its main highlight.
The line is clearly aimed at runners, with training plans, exportable routes, and VO2 Max tests, though more than 100 sports are available, including a new golf-focused driving range workout.
For a smartwatch, the GT 3 Pro's heart rate monitor is accurate. The other sensors on the watch are also solid.
Additional tracking includes monitoring SPO2, heart rate, stress levels, temperature, and more throughout the day.
Huawei WATCH GT 3 PRO battery life and charging
Charge with any Qi wireless charger
Titanium Watch GT 3 Pro has up to 14 days of battery life
Ceramic Watch GT 3 Pro lasts up to 7 days
Both the Watch GT 3 and GT 3 Pro charge wirelessly, and unlike the Apple and Samsung smartwatches, they will work with any Qi wireless charger.
The Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro looks like a watch, not an Apple Watch, and thanks to its long battery life and support for an always-on display, it also starts to feel like you're using a traditional watch.
